Robert De Niro as Frank Sheeran:

The Irishman is De Niro and director Martin Scorsese’s NINTH feature film collaboration.

Sheeran served as a hitman for the mafia and claimed to have killed Teamster president, and friend, Jimmy Hoffa. He died of cancer in 2003.

Al Pacino as Jimmy Hoffa:

This might surprise you, but The Irishman marks the first time Pacino and Scorsese have worked together.

Hoffa served as the president of the Teamsters Union from 1957 until the late 1960s. He went missing in July 1975 and was declared legally dead some years later.

Joe Pesci as Russell Bufalino:

Joe Pesci actually came out of retirement to act in The Irishman, this film marks his first on-screen role in almost 10 years.

Buffalino was a Pennsylvania-based mafia boss who was known by those closest to him as “McGee.”

Ray Romano as Bill Bufalino:

Romano is best known for his TV show Everybody Loves Raymond and, more recently, his part in Get Shorty on Epix.

Bufalino was an attorney who represented the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, he was also cousins with Russell Bufalino and worked closely with Jimmy Hoffa before his disappearance.

Keitel’s working relationship with Scorsese goes all the way back to acting in the director’s 1967 student feature film Who’s That Knocking at My Door?

Bruno was a Philadelphia mob boss who was also known as the “Gentle Don.”

Graham, an English actor, is probably best known for his roles in This is England, Snatch, Gangs of New York, and HBO’s Boardwalk Empire.

Provenzano, AKA “Tony Pro,” was a member of the Genovese crime family in New York. He was also a vice president for Teamsters Local 560 in New Jersey.

You probably know Plemons best for his roles in Breaking Bad, the Fargo series, and Black Mirror.

O’Brien is Hoffa’s foster son. There are still many debates about his involvement (innocent or not) in Hoffa’s disappearance.

Maniscalco is best known as a stand-up comic, however he’s also had supporting roles in Green Book and Tag.

Gallo, also known as “Crazy Joe,” was a mobster in the NY-area Profaci crime family. He was famously shot to death in front of his family at Umberto’s Clam House in Little Italy, NY.

White’s other credits include Scorsese’s iconic Goodfellas, Morning Glory, and Eat Pray Love.

Hoffa, nee Josephine Poszywak, met her husband Jimmy on the picket line. She died five years after Jimmy Hoffa’s disappearance at the age of 62.

And Jack Huston as Robert Kennedy:

Huston is best known for his role as Richard Harrow in Boardwalk Empire and as the title character in Ben-Hur. He is a member of the famous Huston film dynasty.

Robert “Bobby” Kennedy was, of course, the brother of John F. Kennedy. He was controversially appointed Attorney General of the United States by JFK in 1961.
