Daylight has come for nostalgic fans of Tim Burton‘s Beetlejuice.

Actress Catherine O’Hara — who appeared in the original 1988 fantasy film and is set to reprise her role as Delia Deetz in the upcoming sequel — revealed Wednesday that the late Harry Belafonte‘s iconic song “Day-O” will also return for another scene in 2024’s Beetlejuice Beetlejuice.

“‘Day-O’ is in the movie,” the Schitt’s Creek star confirmed on Kelly Ripa‘s Let’s Talk Off Camera podcast, referencing the first film’s memorable song-and-dance sequence that sees a ghostly couple (Geena Davis, Alec Baldwin) haunt a family that moves into their home, and ultimately forces them to perform the Belafonte classic using their supernatural powers.

EW has reached out to distributor Warner Bros. for comment.

Elsewhere in the interview with Ripa, O’Hara explained her thoughts on filming the new movie with some of her original costars (Michael Keaton, Winona Ryder) as well as series newcomer Jenna Ortega.

“It was just very, just really loose and fun and lovely, and Michael Keaton was so happy to be there, and Jenna is so cool. Jenna Ortega is such a cool young woman,” O’Hara said of Burton’s Wednesday actress, who plays Astrid, the daughter of Ryder’s Lydia Deetz. “Winona looks exactly the same!”

Ortega previously opened up about the dynamic between Lydia and Astrid in the film, calling it “weird, but in a different way and not in the way you’d assume.”

“The relationship between Lydia and Astrid, my character, is very important,” Ortega toldVanity Fair. “And it’s also really strange because it’s a lot of catching up and putting the pieces together of what’s gone on in Lydia’s life since, which is nice, I think, for anybody who loves the character and is excited to see her again.”

Beetlejuice Beetlejuice hits theaters on Sept. 6. Listen to O’Hara talk about the return of “Day-O” in the interview above.
